Organic Pigment Industrial Technology and Prospects

Abstract : This article introduces the development of organic pigment industry in China in recent years, and the comparison of organic pigments and organic dyes. The technical characteristics of organic pigments (physical form, chemical structure, synthesis and commercialization, application performance, etc.) are discussed in detail; future development Trends, several ways for organic pigment industry to reduce emissions, reduce consumption and increase efficiency, and the technical fields in the organic pigment industry in China that need to be strengthened.

1 Introduction

In the past 20 years or more, the organic pigment industry in China has been working hard with the employees in the company's leadership, and has continued to develop and expand. It has made remarkable progress and changes in terms of product quantity, variety, and product internal quality. Prior to the reform and opening up, the national organic pigment production plant was mainly a state-owned dye factory or pigment factory, together with less than 20 joint ventures of small township enterprises or state-owned enterprises that were established shortly afterwards; in the 21st century, organic pigment production enterprises developed rapidly. According to incomplete statistics, there are about 130 organic pigment production plants or companies. [1]

In the past 20 years, the country’s organic pigment output has increased 14-fold, and the ratio of organic dye production has shrunk from 1:10 to 1:3.82; the world’s average organic pigment/organic dye production ratio is 1:4; and the ratio of organic pigments/organic dyes in the US The ratio is 1:2. The output of my inherent machine pigments over the years is shown in Table-1.

The changes in the annual output of organic pigments/organic dyes and their production ratio are shown in Figure-1 and Figure-2.

The output of organic pigment-related enterprises in the country was approximately 10,000 tons in 1985. According to statistics from the China National Dyestuff Industry Association of the National Bureau of Statistics, the annual organic pigment output of the country increased to 182,600 tons in 2006, an increase of 16.6% over the previous year. With an annual output of more than 5,000 tons, a total of 8: a total of 64,711 tons, accounting for 35% of the country's total output of organic pigments.
